I've been disconnected.
Leaving thought and opinion and whisper behind.
I've left behind those things that were keeping me behind.
I haven't looked back... for what's behind me cannot hurt me.
And I like that.
And my work has benefited...
and my happiness too.

I'm in, what I like to call, "beast mode," over here. "Beast mode," is a cleverly worded phrase that really just means- "Holy shit, I've procrastinated for far too long and I have Christmas shows coming up and I have nothing..." mode. (Please read that without breathing between any of the words).
Yes, the holidays have arrived... and it's time to sand my fingers numb.

My photo for "beast mode" was taken with my phone- because my camera died, and when you're in "beast mode," all of the important, small things fall to the side and your hair looks like it got caught in the blender, and your clothes have three layers of metalsmithy stuff, and you get things done anyway that you know how.
I never said "beast mode" was pretty.
"Beast mode" is not pretty.

I'll be here awhile.

  1. "Feral" is my usual mode of behaviour and appearance, so I forgive you your "beast mode." Aside from that, sometimes whatever mode you need to be in to get shit done is all that matters.
Try to take some time for *you* too, though. It's essential.

  2. You mean BEaUTY and the beast!
Come on now, these are your glory days, baby! Tear it up!
Maybe in between all the hustle, you could make yourself a silver barrette with wings, for your "blender" hair! Wheeeeeeee!!!!!!
(Those earrings growing on that plant are amaaazing)

    1. You DREAMBOAT genius!!!!! I need to make that barrette... asap.
It's gunna have to be big... this hair is wild!

The earrings... I just walked outside and there they were.. growing... happy little jewelry making plant... weirdly, it produces oranges too... it's a strange phenomenon. I can't explain it. Something about science.

  3. i love you, you beast. and all your designs. and your silversmithing.
i tell ya'....i love it when you are in beast mode.
this coyotegirl lives in beast mode, too, most all the time.

and with all that said: ain't it grand, disconnecting and leaving "it" all behind in order to find what's real and true for our souls??

    1. It really is.
      Just push it all away.
Ridding of it all for a good while.
      It is so good.

      Warrior on, woman, warrior on.

  4. beast mode looks good on you!

    love and light
