I'm wide awake, but I am sleeping.
Drifting far from the tension.
Pulling away from the outside.
Pulling in towards my smile.
Pulling in towards my heart.
Pulling in for myself.
I watch and learn from here.
I discover from here.
and I let go from here.
My humility is high.
stretched from string to starlight.
a full spool in my pocket.
Humanity still feeds.
They pull from one anther.
They keep.
They parade.
And though my shell is still soft
I am protected.
I hold ground.
I rise.
Quietly.
Teflon.
Burn resistant.
At peace.
and I feel the tied pull from both sides of me.
and the smile holds.
beautiful poetry.

Been thinking about you and the dove. Your photos were so sweet. I'm so glad you were able to grab those moments. xo
