This is an example of one of those pieces that sits on my bench forever.
I had the setting made for the stone for almost 3 weeks now.
It was meant to be a ring, but that ring... just wasn't happening.
At all.

I mean at all.  My head could explode just thinking about it.
-----------
Yesterday I rolled the ferns.
I soldered the handmade tubing.
I wrapped the wire.
I stamped small plates of silver.
Every. single. thing. worked.

It was one of those moments where there was no struggle. No frustration. No cursing.
One of those moments where every hiss of flame, every crunch of saw blade, every ping of hammer happened just how it was planned to.

I am going to toot my own horn here...

This piece is perfect.
I am in silversmith heaven.
I am right where I belong.
sigh.
------------

You can see the larger, more detailed, images here.
It's worth the click, I promise.

I will be off dreaming of more, 'perfect' work to come, floating on my cloud, drinking my coffee, tapping my toes to quiet, lovely music, and smiling from ear to ear for the rest of the day.... or until the next piece of mine burns to the ground and I throw a saw frame across the room.

Lets be real, dreamers.

It's a thought I've had for a while and I'm happy I finally put it to use in a piece!
